Introduction

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) has successfully dismantled one of the largest live sports streaming piracy operations to date. With over 821 million visits last year, this Vietnam-based network, known as Markkystreams, targeted sports fans primarily in the U.S. and Canada, streaming content from all major U.S. sports leagues and global competitions. ACE’s latest victory sends a clear message: the fight against illegal sports piracy continues to intensify.

The Scope of the Operation

Markkystreams was not just any piracy ring—it was the biggest one ACE has ever taken down. The network operated from Hanoi, Vietnam, and managed 138 domains, including high-profile sites like bestsolaris[dot]com, streameast[dot]to, and markkystreams[dot]com. These sites disrupted the live sports viewing experience, depriving broadcasters and rights holders of substantial revenue.

Live sports content loses value once the event ends, making these streams particularly lucrative for illegal operators. The shutdown of such a massive operation represents a significant win for ACE and its mission to protect the commercial value of live sports programming.

ACE’s Ongoing Fight Against Piracy

Since its formation in June 2017, ACE has been at the forefront of combating piracy. The coalition includes some of the world’s biggest media and entertainment companies, such as Amazon, Apple TV+, Netflix, Warner Bros., and Paramount Global. ACE has successfully targeted and dismantled several major piracy platforms, including Openload, Streamango, Beast IPTV, 123movies.la, and Zoro.to.

This relentless effort shows that ACE is committed to cracking down on illegal streaming networks, regardless of their size or reach. The recent takedown of Markkystreams highlights ACE’s dedication to protecting the integrity and revenue of live sports content.

Collaborations with Law Enforcement

ACE doesn’t operate alone. The organization collaborates with international law enforcement agencies like the U.S. Department of Justice, Europol, and Interpol. These partnerships have proven instrumental in executing large-scale operations against piracy.

In recent years, ACE has played a critical role in dismantling pirate networks making millions since their inception. For example, they helped shut down the Jetflicks illegal streaming service, convicting several individuals associated with it. More recently, they targeted a pirate streaming service that had over 22 million users and generated over €250 million ($263 million) monthly.

What This Means for Sports Fans and Broadcasters

For sports fans, the shutdown of massive piracy operations like Markkystreams ensures that legal streaming services remain the go-to option for accessing live events. While piracy might seem like an easier way to access content for free, it comes with significant risks. Subscribing to illegal streaming services not only compromises the quality of your viewing experience but also exposes you to potential legal consequences.

For broadcasters, these actions safeguard their revenue streams, which are essential for funding future sports content. The value of live sports broadcasting cannot be overstated, and eliminating piracy ensures that rights holders are fairly compensated for their work.

Conclusion

The takedown of Markkystreams represents a major victory for ACE and the global entertainment industry. With over 821 million visits annually, this piracy ring posed a significant threat to the financial sustainability of live sports broadcasting. However, ACE’s continued commitment and collaboration with law enforcement have proven effective.

As more piracy networks are targeted, the fight for the integrity of live sports content will only intensify. Sports fans and broadcasters alike must remain vigilant, supporting legal streaming platforms to ensure a fair and secure viewing experience.
